Jon Guerra - Kingdom of God (Live)

Jon Guerra - Kingdom of God (Live)

LYRICS | KINGDOM OF GOD Oh, that I could see your face How I’m longing for that day Brighter sun of holy grace Make my heart a holy place Blessed are the poor who have nothing to own Blessed are the mourners who are crying alone Blessed are the guilty who have nowhere to go For their hearts have a road to the kingdom of God And their souls are the songs of the kingdom of God And they will find a refuge for theirs is the kingdom of God Beauty shining from your face Always longed to see this place Is there somewhere I can stay? Even just a couple days? Blessed are the poor who have nothing to own Blessed are the mourners who are crying alone Blessed are the guilty who have nowhere to go For their hearts have a road to the kingdom of God And their souls are the songs of the kingdom of God And they will find a refuge for theirs is the kingdom of God The Lord is our shepherd, we shall not want In valley or pasture, we shall not want Our cup runneth over and over For now and forever For now and forever The Lord is our shepherd, we shall not want In valley or pasture, we shall not want Our cup runneth over and over For now and forever For now and forever For now and forever For now and forever Blessed are the poor who have nothing to own Blessed are the mourners who are crying alone Blessed are the guilty who have nowhere to go For their hearts have a road to the kingdom of God And their souls are the songs of the kingdom of God And they will find a refuge for theirs is the kingdom of God Oh, that I could see your face How I’m longing for that day

Come fall at His feet and receive | Jesus Devotionals 8976

Come fall at His feet and receive

On Sunday, Pastor Prince shared on the Syro-Phoenician woman and importance of being intimate with Jesus.

The Biblical account of this woman in the Book of Mark is titled “A Gentile Shows Her Faith” in the NKJV. What struck me most about the posture of being intimate with Jesus was this verse.

Mark 7:25

For a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and fell at His feet.

“Heard about Him, and came and fell at His feet” - This is a posture and picture of intimacy with the Lord. Keep hearing about Jesus and you’ll come and fall at His feet. You cannot fall at His feet and not be intimate with Him.

In Matthew’s account of this woman, it says, “Then she came and worshipped Him, saying, ‘Lord, help me!’ (Matt 15:25).”

Falling at Jesus feet. Worshipping. What a picture of intimacy with the Lord!

Do you know that there was someone else, this time a man, who adopted the same posture of intimacy with Jesus when he also needed healing for his child?

Yes, that man was Jairus, who said, “my little daughter lies at the point of death (Mark 5:23).”

But watch what posture of intimacy he adopted.

Mark 5:22

And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet.

Both the Syro-Phoenician woman and Jairus, a ruler of a synagogue, heard about Jesus and fell at His feet. Both needed healing for their daughters, became intimate with Jesus and received what they came for!

The Bible tells us that Ruth, who was a poor young childless widow, also came to lay at the feet of her kinsman redeemer Boaz, a close relative who had the means to redeem her from her plight (Ruth 3:7).

Boaz here in the Old Testament is a picture of Jesus, our kinsman-redeemer. He is our kinsman because He was born into this world as one of us. And He is our Redeemer because He redeemed us by shedding His precious blood and dying for us at the cross.

Jeremiah 50:34 says, “Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is His name. He will thoroughly plead their case.”

Just as Ruth came and laid intimately at the feet of Boaz her kinsman-redeemer, the feet of Jesus our kinsman-redeemer is a place of redemption, strength and blessings. Jairus and the Syro-Phoenician woman came and intimately fell at the feet of their kinsman-redeemer too. And all three received what they came for!

When you adopt a posture of intimacy and fall at Jesus’ feet, looking to Him for help, you can expect to receive blessings. The Bible tells us Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8) so what He willingly did for Ruth, Jairus and the Syro-Phoenician woman, He’ll willingly do for you too!
