“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” – Galatians 5:1
Have you ever felt like you’re constantly trying to measure up? Like no matter how much you pray, read the Bible, or serve, you still feel like you’re falling short? That’s not the life Jesus intended for you. He didn’t come to place more burdens on you—He came to set you free.
Grace vs. Performance
For the longest time, I lived with the mindset that my worth in God’s eyes was tied to my performance. If I did good, He was pleased. If I failed, I imagined Him disappointed. But Galatians 5:4 opened my eyes: “You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.”
That hit deep. I realized I had been living as though Jesus’ work on the cross wasn’t enough—as if I had to add my own efforts to complete what He already finished.
Walking in Freedom
Jesus didn’t die to burden us with more rules; He died to set us free from sin and the exhausting cycle of striving. When we surrender, we exchange our self-effort for His grace, our stress for His peace, and our chains for true liberty.
So today, I invite you: Let go of the weight you were never meant to carry. Trust in His finished work, and live in the freedom He has given you.
